Live at Capalano’s in Mcminnville Tennessee. Little did we know the same night we were competing with Bonaroo 2009. Springsteen was on stage about 10 miles down the road. Bruce won.

What has Myspace come to? I was checking my messages today and here is what I came across. (Note I do not even have a song called “Ache Beautiful”)
Hey Michael,
I’m really digging Ache Beautiful. My name’s Deirdre Barlow, I’m a scout with Hitt Music here in L.A. Anyway, I came across your page and I think you have a sound that may be pretty marketable.
I don’t know what your plans are for your music, but there’s definitely some potential. Do you have any more material?? Instrumentals??
Good indie artists are becoming really hard to come by. Tell you what, give me a call at the office or just shoot me your number so we can get in touch. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!!
p.s. I’ll send you some links in a second.
Regards,
Deirdre Barlow

My Response:
Hello,
Although I do respect your attempt to connect with me, I don’t currently have any of my music up here on Myspace because I am in the middle of the pre-production process right now. Secondly, I do not have a song called “Ache Beautiful”. Lastly, you don’t have to tell me if my material is marketable or not. You’ve never even taken the time to listen to it. Why would I ever want to work with a company who sees just “some” potential in my music anyways? A company should love the acts it works with.
I also know a plethora of “Independent Artists” who are amazingly talented. To say they are hard to come by shows me you need to do some more research and get out and hear some music. (or visit Nashville).
Here is my suggestion. If you would like people to take your company seriously, use a different method of trying to reel people in. Better yet, don’t waste people’s time or your own for that matter. Its things like this that are wrong with Myspace, and the music industry.
Best,
Michael

Thanks to everyone in Cookeville who came out to support independent music last night. You guys made it a great environment to play in. Thanks to the Arlene at the Intrepid Traveler Cafe also. I really wish we had a venue like that in Nashville. The town of Cookeville has an amazing charm to it and we can’t wait to go play there again.

Thanks to everyone who has kept the Vibe Dial Recording Studio very busy! Visit the studio tab or click on the picture below to go to the studio page. The michaelestok.com music player is coming very soon. It will also include other independent artists with whom I have had the pleasure of recording here at my studio.

No I am not making fun of people who use twitter. I use it myself. I am trying out Twitter Tools for my website instead of tweetsuite. Hopefully this yields better results. Also take note that the forum has been updated with material and better colors. I am grateful that I will not be responsible for any more nausea, vertigo, seasickness, or vomiting due to bad color selection.
In short, I am making progress on the website. It has been 1 week since I started working on this thing. I have heard news of new shows coming soon and material has just been pouring out of me. Many of you who know me understand that I have been battling a 3.5 year writers block which I am blessed to say I feel has passed.
Also check out Emily Estok on itunes. We just finished a single called “Hold On Tight” and its already selling. Thanks to all who have purchased it. It really means alot to us!

Hello all,
Today and tommorrow I have vowed to work on my forum section of the website. Little did I know I would find a snag in my plan. Simple press forums are just plain ugly. I do believe I will have to alter the theme to make it a little bit easier on everyone’s eyes. Forgive me if you click on the forum page and get a slight bit dizzy due to poor color combination. I will have this worked out very soon. Soon the page will be done and we can all focus on the reason I made this site. Music!
